Project name: Tudor House
Lighting Designer: Commercial Lighting
Products used: Sovereign Round Spotlight
Southampton’s most important historic building, Tudor House reveals over 800 years of history. The timber frame building was built in the late 15th century. Tudor House gives a unique and atmospheric insight into the lives and times of its residents and of Southampton itself. Commercial Lighting was tasked by Southampton City Council with updating their old Tungsten Halogen system for a more energy efficient solution. With modifications to the existing DALI system, our SOVEREIGN Electronic Round Shallow Spotlight was chosen for the project, due to its versatility and flexibility of beam angles and attachments which are available. The result has meant an energy saving of almost 90% and an improved overall light quality.
From Jane Altonyan, Carbon Reduction Officer: "I am grateful to Commercial Lighting Systems for working hard to ensure they could offer us an affordable, workable alternative to the high energy halogen track spotlights. Not only are we saving on electricity bills, but our museum staffs are very pleased with the quality of the new lighting”
